The reaction force of a shock absorber is given by the resistance that the oil contained in it encounters in passing through the valves, consisting of calibrated holes and preloaded disc plugs. The suspension, through a millimeter adjusting ring, is able to preload the spring and create a compression calibration that varies according to the rider's needs.
